David L. Portman, CCIM founded Horizon Commercial Real Estate in 2020, amidst the initial height of the Covid pandemic. In the chaos and quietude, he took the opportunity to grant Oklahoma a new full-service brokerage. He designed Horizon to focus on industrial portfolio leasing, tenant representation, investment sales, and development. Mid 2021, he expanded to a team model so he could offer even more services, and help even more Oklahoma commercial property owners.
David's lucrative 19-year career leading up to Horizon began in 2002 with the Trammell Crow Company, which is now CBRE, Inc. in the Oklahoma City industrial market. He built his success on four main areas of brokerage: portfolio sales and project leasing for large institutional landlords, tenant representation with a list of Fortune 500 companies, high-quality investment sales and creating strong returns for investors, and guiding developers through the entire development process.
Portman is a market leader because of innovative solutions, work ethic, and expertise. To date, he has completed over $500 million in sales and lease transactions, personally handles institutional project leasing portfolios totaling 2.5 million square feet, and is working on several new industrial park developments.
